5 Tips on How to be a Great Group Member for your Bride!

First of all, welcome to Miss Ruby Bridal - we’re so excited that you’re here! We hope you’re enjoying your experience with us so far. While you sit back, relax and sip a complimentary cup of our signature tea, we thought it'd be fun to share a few tips on how to help make your bride-to-be’s experience the best it can be! The bride chose you to be a part of this special moment for a reason, here are some ways that you can make sure that they feel celebrated by you!

1.) Know the brides style or what they’re excited about trying on

Talk with the bride before you come in, ask to see some inspo pics or just ask them what’s most important to them when it comes to their dress. All these questions will help to keep everyone on the same page on what the bride wants! Some brides value comfort over the over the top glam. Some brides know they’re not going to feel comfortable in a more fitted gown. Of course, we want to make sure our brides try on everything that they’re interested in trying on but there could be some styles of gowns that the bride feels confident in skipping over! Also, avoid encouraging your bride to try on a style that you are loving but you know that they will not enjoy. We want them to always be trying on gowns that will instill confidence in them!

2.) Be supportive ALWAYS, remember it's their day!

The bride chose you to be here because you make them feel loved! Remember to continue to throw compliments their way and make them feel empowered, confident and supported throughout the process. The dresses they say “no” to and kick out are just as important as the one they ultimately say YES to! The best group members are the ones that are behind the bride 100%. Even if their style isn’t exactly the same as yours or your visions don’t align, support whatever they love and whatever makes them feel the most confident and beautiful!

3.) Look at their body language, do they look happy or are they feeling uncomfy?

A lot of times we’ll be able to tell how a bride is feeling in a dress before they can verbalize it. This isn’t the only thing to base your reaction off of but it can be a helpful hint! If they have the biggest smile on their face and can’t help but just stare at themselves - we might have a winner on our hands! Vice versa - if they keep pulling and tugging at the dress and are preoccupied trying to make themselves feel more comfortable, then it’s probably time to move on from that gown. What matters the most is how a bride is feeling in the gown and it’s best to hear it from their perspective first!

4.) Trust your stylist!

The entire Miss Ruby Team is dedicated to helping the bride find their dream dress and guide them throughout this exciting process! Every bride has their own journey and it’s best to celebrate every decision along the way. You never know when the right dress will come along. Sometimes in the first dress they try on, sometimes it’s at the very first appointment of the day, sometimes it's the opposite of what they came in looking for and sometimes it's been quite the journey and we finally found something that put the pieces together. The stylist is here to empower the bride to make big decisions and remind them to be in the moment and celebrate with all their special people beside them when they find “the one”.

   and the most important...

5.) Be ready to celebrate when the bride finds their dress, no matter when that is!

This journey is different for every single bride! Try to let the bride experience it all in their own way & on their own terms. Try not to place guidelines on how you think this process should happen for them because the truth is, a bride never knows when they’re going to find the one for them! We know you care so much about your bride-to-be and we do too - so when they find their dress and they know it’s the one, it’s time for nothing but celebration!
